Whats inside: Simcha here, and boy am I excited to share something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time: An intimate harp retreat in the Lower Galilee mountains of Israel! It will be for just a small group of harpists, gathering in one of the most beautiful and spiritually resonant places on earth. A week of learning, playing, connecting - in the land where so many of these ancient melodies were born. I’ll be joined by three master teachers: 🎵 Sunita Staneslow - whose therapeutic, meditative style creates space for healing and is one of my first harp inspirations which shaped my playing style till today, and one of the trailblazers in bringing Psalms to the harp world. We've planned a spiritual sunset concert on the Sea of the Galilee with inspiring guest musicians Chavah Saban and Tziona Achishena, a women's duo group specializing in songs of the Psalms. Here’s a glimpse of the music style and teaching you’ll experience: Danny boy in the Galilee Forest with Sophia: What we’ll explore together: - Therapeutic and meditative harp - Jewish melodies and songs of the Psalms - Middle Eastern scales and improvisation - Making beauty out of simplicity - Playing harp with other instruments - And More The Details:📍 Location: Klil, an ecological off-grid settlement in the Lower Galilee + Shabbat immersion Add-On in Tzfat (Safed) What’s included: This retreat is for you if: The Galilee is where I live with my family. These mountains, this light, this ancient land - it’s been the backdrop and inspiration for so much of my music. I can’t wait to share it with you. Learn more and register here: 👇
If you have questions, just reply to this email. I’m happy to talk through anything - logistics, what to expect, whether this retreat is right for you. Looking forward to making music together in the Galilee, P.S. For those waiting on the membership, I'm still working on launching it. It's been getting delayed again and again due to all the work needed in putting together the membership platform we'll be learning on, but it's on the way and very close :) |

Hey Reader👋 I just posted a new play-along harp video—a short Middle Eastern style lesson with a tanpura drone to help you find that meditative rhythmic flow. We're tuned to A Harmonic Minor scale. The video guides you through building a simple left-hand rhythm over an Indian Tanpura drone, then slowly layering in the right hand, using the G# from the harmonic minor scale to bring out the ancient middle eastern vibe. The Play Along lesson combines Middle Eastern, with Modes, Right and Left...
